Entering search strings

z/OS ISPF User's Guide Vol II
SC19-3628-00

Enclose the string in single quotation marks if it contains embedded blanks or apostrophes. Two consecutive apostrophes must be entered to specify a single apostrophe within a search string.

If you need to specify a DBCS string that contains a hexadecimal '7D' (x'7D', the hexadecimal representation of a single quotation mark) as half of a DBCS pair, you must use the Enhanced SearchFor option (option 3.15) with the MIXED process option.

This example searches for the string IT'S A LIVING.
==> 'IT'S A LIVING'
