Random Number Generate (CSNBRNG, CSNERNG, CSNBRNGL and CSNERNGL) z/OS Cryptographic Services ICSF Application Programmer's Guide SA22-7522-16 |
|
The callable service uses the cryptographic feature to generate a random number. The foundation for the random number generator is a time variant input with a very low probability of recycling. There are two forms of the Random Number Generate callable service. One version returns an 8-byte random number. The second version allows the caller to specify the length of the random number. Note:
Random Number Generate on a z900 server requires the
symmetric-keys master key to be set prior to using the service. The callable service names for AMODE(64) invocation are CSNERNG and CSNERNGL. |
