Running the CIM server as started task

The standard way to start the CIM server on z/OS is through the started task CFZCIM.

Before the first start: 

Starting the CIM server: 

  • _ Enter the following command from the z/OS console:
    S(TART) CFZCIM

Verifying a successful start: 

  • _ After a successful start of the CIM server, the following message is shown on the console and issued to the syslog:
    CFZ10030I: Started CIM server version 2.11 for z/OS.

Stopping the CIM server: 

  • _ When the CIM server was started through CFZCIM, you can also stop it from the console by entering
    (STO)P CFZCIM
