Who should read this information

This information is intended for the system programmer and performance analyst responsible for measuring and improving system performance. The CIM data model described in this information can be used in writing applications that monitor system resources, for example to discover bottlenecks or to control thresholds and to provide information about which tuning actions should be applied.

Because the CIM data model provided for z/OS is used in applications that measure z/OS system performance, this document assumes that the reader has extensive knowledge of the z/OS system.
