Using Language Environment under IMS z/OS Language Environment Customization SA38-0685-00 |

If you are running programs that require Language Environment in an IMS/TM dependent region, such as an IMS™ message processing region, you can improve performance if you use Language Environment library routine retention. With library routine retention in effect, Language Environment keeps certain resources in memory when an application program ends, making subsequent invocations of programs that use Language Environment much faster because the Language Environment resources left in memory are reused.
