Step 6: Update build status table

Options:
status
Identifies build requirements.
If the $PPF files have been serviced this prompt is displayed:
VMFBLD2185R The following source product parameter files have been
            serviced.
VMFBLD2185R P696234K $PPF
VMFBLD2185R When source product parameter files are serviced, all
            product parameter files built from them must be recompiled
            using VMFPPF before VMFBLD can be run.
VMFBLD2185R Enter zero (0) to have the serviced source product
            parameter files built to your A-disk and exit VMFBLD so
            you can recompile your product parameter files with VMFPPF.
VMFBLD2185R Enter one (1) to continue only if you have already
            recompiled your product parameter files with VMFPPF.

Select 1 if you have previously compiled your product parameter files. In this case, go to Step 7: Rebuild serviced parts (objects).

When you select 0, then these steps recompile the product parameter files (PPF).

  1. Indicate $PPF file needs to be compiled

    The message

    VMFBLD2188I Building P696234K $PPF on 191 (A) from level $PFnnnnn

    is displayed.

  2. Compile the product parameter file
  3. Copy the product parameter file to software inventory disk
    Options:
    olddate
    Uses the date and time on each input file as the date and time of the last update of each corresponding output file.
    replace
    Causes the output file to replace an existing file with the same file identifier.
  4. Erase product parameter file from A disk
  5. Update build status table
    Options:
    status
    Identifies build requirements.
  6. Review the build message log
