- z/VSE
- The value of &SYSTERM_MEMBER is always null.
The value
of the type attribute is O, and the value of the count attribute is
0.
- z/VM and z/OS
- You can use &SYSTERM_MEMBER in a macro definition to obtain
the name of the data set member to which the assembler is writing
the terminal records.
The local-scope system variable symbol &SYSTERM_MEMBER
is assigned a read-only value each time a macro definition is called.
If
the data set to which the assembler is writing the terminal records
is not a z/OS partitioned data set, &SYSTERM_MEMBER is assigned
a null character string.
Notes: - If the TERM user exit provides the terminal data set information
then the value in &SYSTERM_MEMBER is the value extracted from
the Exit-Specific Information block described in the section "Exit-Specific
Information Block" in the HLASM Programmer's Guide.
- The value of the type attribute of &SYSTERM_MEMBER (T'&SYSTERM_MEMBER)
is U, unless &SYSTERM_MEMBER is assigned a null character string,
in which case the value of the type attribute is O.
- The value of the count attribute of &SYSTERM_MEMBER (K'&SYSTERM_MEMBER)
is equal to the number of characters assigned as a value to &SYSTERM_MEMBER.
If &SYSTERM_MEMBER is assigned a null character string, the value
of the count attribute is 0.
