Because a fast replication backup is a physical copy of the data,
you should take special care to ensure that the catalogs stay synchronized
with the data. Catalogs should be copied with the data that they represent
so that both can be recovered to the same point-in-time.
If it becomes necessary for you to recover an individual volume
and not the corresponding catalog, you must be aware that the data
on the volume will not be synchronized with the catalog and the following
may occur:
- Data sets may exist on the volume but not in the catalog.
- The catalog may have entries for data sets on the volume that
are not actually present.
- Data set information for existing data sets in the catalog may
be inaccurate.
