Event-driven migration performs space management functions similar to primary space management, except it is event-driven instead of scheduled. Event-driven migration automatically and periodically moves low-activity data sets from DFSMShsm-managed volumes to DFSMShsm-owned volumes, transitions data sets from one class of user-accessible volumes to another, and reduces the space occupied by data sets on DFSMShsm-managed volumes.
