When a data set is recovered or restored by an unauthorized user (HRECOVER), the date-last-referenced field in the data set VTOC entry of the data set is updated with the current date. When a data set is recovered or restored by an authorized user, the date-last-referenced field in the data set VTOC entry is updated with the date-last-referenced field from the data set’s VTOC entry that was saved at the time of backup or dump. When a data set is recovered or restored with the NEWNAME parameter of the RECOVER command, the date-last-referenced field in the data set VTOC entry is updated with the current date regardless of the authorization of the user.
