Site Builder

Site Builder is an application that you can use to create site templates or section templates for use with IBM® WebSphere® Portal.

Prerequisites for using Site Builder

Site Builder is installed out of the box with WebSphere Portal 8.5 CF08 or higher.
Managed Pages must be enabled. See Enabling managed pages.

Note: Older versions of Content Template cannot be used to install Site Builder on WebSphere Portal 8.5 CF08 or higher. The old Content Template version of Site Builder does not work on WebSphere Portal 8.5 CF08 or higher.

Deploying Site Builder
Deploy Site Builder by setting access to determine who can use Site Builder and which tools they can use. Website creators are allowed to create websites, or add new sections to existing websites, based on the site templates and section templates that are provided to them. Administrators can create websites, or add sections to existing websites, and they can create, change, and distribute Site Builder templates too.
Exporting Site Builder templates to other servers
Site Builder administrators can export published Site Builder templates to other servers that run Site Builder. People working on those servers use the Site Builder templates to create websites or to design similar Site Builder templates. Only administrators can export Site Builder templates. Website creators do not see the import and export actions when they use Site Builder.
