Upgrading to Tivoli Storage Manager Version 7.1.3
You can upgrade a Tivoli® Storage Manager V5 or V6 server to V7.1.3.

To revert to an earlier version of Tivoli Storage
Manager after an upgrade or migration, you must have a full database backup and the installation software for the original server. You must also have key configuration files:
- Volume history file
- Device configuration file
- Server options file
- dsmserv.dsk file (for a server upgrade or migration from V5 to V7.1.3)
- Upgrading from Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 or V6.3 to V7.1.3
You can upgrade the server directly from Tivoli Storage Manager V6.2 or V6.3 to V7.1.3. You do not need to uninstall V6.2 or V6.3. - Upgrading from Tivoli Storage Manager V6.1 to V7.1.3
You can upgrade the Tivoli Storage Manager server from V6.1 to V6.3, and then upgrade the server to V7.1.3. It is not possible to upgrade the server directly from V6.1 to V7.1.3. - Upgrading Tivoli Storage Manager in a clustered environment
To upgrade a Tivoli Storage Manager server to V7.1.3 in a clustered environment, you must complete preparation and installation tasks. The procedures vary, depending on the operating system and release. - Removing GSKit Version 7 after upgrading to Tivoli Storage Manager Version 7.1.3
The Tivoli Storage Manager installation wizard upgrades GSKit Version 8 and later. GSKit Version 7 is not removed or upgraded when you upgrade to Tivoli Storage Manager Version 7.1.3, even if GSKit was installed with an earlier version of Tivoli Storage Manager.
