Tcpserveraddress

The tcpserveraddress option specifies the TCP/IP address for a Tivoli® Storage Manager server. You can obtain this server address from your administrator.

This option is valid for all clients.

Options File

AIX operating systemsHP-UX operating systemsLinux operating systemsOracle Solaris operating systemsMac OS X operating systemsPlace this option in the dsm.sys file within a server stanza. You can set this option on the Communication tab, in the Server Address field in the Preferences editor.

Windows operating systemsPlace this option in the client options file (dsm.opt). You can set this option on the Communication tab, in the Server Address field in the Preferences editor.

If this option is not specified, the client attempts to contact a Tivoli Storage Manager server running on the same computer as the Tivoli Storage Manager client.

Specify a TCP/IP domain name or a numeric IP address. The numeric IP address can be either a TCP/IP v4 or TCP/IP v6 address. You can only use IPv6 addresses if you specified the commmethod V6Tcpip option.
