Clientview

The clientview option is available to users who have upgraded from the IBM® Tivoli® Storage Manager Express® backup client to the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager enterprise client.

You must be connected to a Tivoli Storage Manager Version 5.4 or higher server to use this option. The clientview option allows you to choose either the express view or the standard view of the client graphical user interface (GUI).

Supported Clients

This option is valid for all Windows clients.

Options File

Place this option in the dsm.opt file. To switch to the Express view:

In the Tivoli Storage Manager GUI, select Edit > Preference from the menu bar.
From the General tab of the Preferences editor, in the Client View field, click Express.
Click OK to save your change.

To switch to the Standard view:

In the Tivoli Storage Manager GUI, click Modify Settings.
From the General tab of the Preferences Editor, in the Client View field, click Standard.
Click OK to save your change.

Parameters

standard: Specifies that the standard, or enterprise, view of the Tivoli Storage Manager client GUI should be used. The standard view contains the advanced features of the Tivoli Storage Manager backup-archive client GUI. This is the default.
express: Specifies that the express view of the Tivoli Storage Manager client GUI should be used. The express view contains the same features as the Express backup client GUI.
