Organizing products and services

You can identify and track the products and services that your organization procures to support its projects, maintenance, and other day-to-day activities. You can organize these products and records into catalogs.

  • Products, services, and catalogs
    Products and services records contain details about specifications, vendor or service provider, cost, and lead time. Products and services can be associated with catalogs. Catalogs can in turn be linked with purchase requisitions, therefore controlling what can be requested.
  • Setting up product and service records
    A product record contains the specifications for the product, details about the vendor, and information about costs and lead-time. A services record contains details about the service that is offered, the service provider, labor, and costs. Typically, a product or service record is created from a blanket purchase order.
  • Setting up product catalogs
    A product catalog organizes the products or services into categories.
  • Setting up request catalogs
    A request catalog organizes specifications into categories.
