IBM i and mainframe support for DB2 Connect

Before you access DB2® data on System z® or IBM® i data servers using DB2 Connect™ products, ensure that the data server meets the necessary requirements.

DB2 Connect supports connectivity to the following System z and IBM i data servers:

DB2 for z/OS® Version 8, Version 9 and Version 10	Refer to http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/zseries/zos/servicetst/. In general, IBM recommends the installation of the most recent RSU (Recommended Service Upgrade) to avoid encountering problems caused by software defects already known and corrected by IBM. DB2 Connect Version 9.7 client supports the following versions of DB2 for z/OS servers: DB2 for z/OS Version 9.1 DB2 for z/OS Version 10 DB2 Connect Version 9.7 client supports DB2 for z/OS Version 11 servers but cannot use new functions that have client dependencies such as arrays and global variables. Note: DB2 Connect Version 9.7 Fix Pack 3a or higher is required to connect to a DB2 for z/OS Version 10 server that is running in New Function Mode (NFM).
