DB2 10.5 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

Installing DB2 pureScale Feature in environments where SSH login to root user is disabled

In environments where logging in directly as root user is disabled, you can alternatively setup db2locssh, a highly secure SSH library, that allows you to install and configure the DB2® pureScale® Feature without the need for enabling direct login as root user.

In previous releases, installing and configuring the DB2 pureScale Feature required enabling direct passwordless SSH for root user.

In DB2 Version 10.5, enabling the root login is no longer required.
