Supported upgrade paths for DB2 servers

You must understand the supported upgrade paths for DB2® servers before you upgrade your DB2 environment.

If you are upgrading from DB2 Version 9.7 or DB2 Version 10.1, follow the upgrade plan that is detailed in Planning to upgrade DB2 servers.

If you are upgrading a DB2 pureScale® instance from DB2 Version 9.8 or DB2 Version 10.1, follow the upgrade steps that are detailed in Upgrading a DB2 pureScale server.

If you are upgrading from a release earlier than DB2 Version 9.7, upgrade them first to DB2 Version 9.7 or DB2 Version 10.1, and then upgrade to DB2 Version 10.5.
