DB2 Version 10.1 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

Installing the DB2 pureScale Feature

The DB2® pureScale® feature can improve the availability and scalability of your database. DB2 clusters are coordinated by a central cluster caching facility (CF). Database clusters do not have to be aware of other clusters. Use this feature if you use online transaction processing (OLTP) scale-out clusters.

Before installing or upgrading to the DB2 pureScale Feature, it is critical that your preinstallation environment is properly set up and configured. After you have settled on an appropriate scenario that meets your needs, review and perform the preinstallation tasks to ensure that your system is properly set up.

If you want to remove the DB2 pureScale Feature, then follow the "Removing DB2 data server and the DB2 pureScale Feature" scenario.
