Explanation
The maximum number of locks allowed for each user could exceed what is available to the IRLM.
- specified-max
- The estimated maximum amount of space specified as IRLM LOCK MAXIMUM SPACE on panel DSNTIPC.
- available-space
- The amount of space that is available for IRLM locks. The available space is specified in the MAX STORAGE FOR LOCKS field of the DSNTIPJ installation panel, and is never less than 2 GB.
All threads are not likely to have the maximum number of locks. However, if the specified-max value exceeds the amount of available space by a significant factor, the possibility of abends in the IRLM increases.
