Integrating Tivoli Business Service Manager
Using data from ITCAM for Transactions you can build Tivoli Business Service Manager (TBSM) service models.
ITCAM for Transactions includes components that you use to create and monitor TBSM services using data from the ITCAM for Transactions Discovery Library Adaptor (DLA).
With V7.2 and later, ITCAM for Transactions also includes the required support to integrate Transaction Tracking with Tivoli Business Service Manager.
To complete the integration, perform the following tasks:
- Modify TBSM version 4 release 2 to include service templates, policies, and portlets to monitor your ITCAM applications, transactions, and subtransactions. With these modifications you can map ITCAM for Transactions data in TBSM.
- Modify the Tivoli® Netcool/OMNIbus version 7 release 2.1 alerts.status table and probe rules file to collect transaction and application data from IBM Tivoli Monitoring situation events and map them to Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus events.
- Create an ITCAM for Transactions Discovery Library Adaptor (DLA) XML book that contains data about your applications, transactions, and sub transactions in IBM® common data model format. The TBSM Discovery Library Toolkit can read this data and convert it to service objects that map to the situation events collected by Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus.
- Modify IBM Tivoli Monitoring to forward situation events to Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus and configure the needed data warehouse tables in ITCAM for Transactions.
- Create a custom TBSM page to display ITCAM for Transactions data.
