Updating the SAS RAID controller microcode

Determine if you need to update your SAS RAID controller microcode, then download and install the updates.

To determine if an update is needed for your controller, follow the directions at Microcode downloads. If updates are needed, download instructions are also located at that Web address.

To install the update to a controller, do the following steps:

  1. Type smit and press Enter.
  2. Select Devices.
  3. Select Disk Array.
  4. Select IBM® SAS Disk Array.
  5. Select Download Microcode to a SAS Controller.
  6. Select the controller that you want.
  7. Follow the instructions to complete the update.
