Configuring monitoring
Configure the server firmware and HMC monitoring.
To configure monitoring, your authority level must be an authorized service provider.
Monitoring is accomplished by periodic samplings called heartbeats, which can detect an HMC or server firmware connection failure.
To configure monitoring, do the following steps:
- On the ASMI Welcome pane, specify your user ID and password, and click Log In.
- In the navigation area, expand System Configuration.
- Select Monitoring.
- Select Enabled or Disabled for the server firmware and HMC. All connection monitoring fields are enabled by default.
- Click Save settings. Monitoring does not take effect until the next time the operating system is started.
