Validating cables in 9080-MHE, 9080-MME, 9119-MHE, or 9119-MME

You can use the Advanced System Management Interface (ASMI) to validate the cables in the system and identity issues such as unplugged cables, incorrect connection, and incorrect cable length.

You can verify whether the flexible service processor (FSP) cables, clock cables, universal power interconnect (UPIC), and symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) cables are functioning correctly.

To validate the cables, complete the following steps:

  1. On the ASMI Welcome pane, specify your user ID and password, and click Log In.
  2. In the navigation area, expand System Service Aids > Cable Validation.
  3. Click Validate Cables.
  4. In the Display Cable Status section, select the type of cable for which you want to view the details after validation:
    • FSP Cables
    • Clock Cables
    • UPIC Cables
    • SMP Cables
  5. Click Continue.
  6. In the Indicator state field, change the indicator state for the cables as required.
  7. Click Save Settings to save the changes.
