Installing a PCIe adapter in the 8286-41A or 8286-42A system with the power turned on in AIX
Learn how to install the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Express (PCIe) adapters in an AIX® system or an AIX logical partition with the system power turned on.
Before you install a feature, ensure that the software that is required to
support the feature is installed on your system. For information about software prerequisites, see
the IBM® Prerequisite website. If the required software is not installed,
see the following websites to download it, and then install it before you continue:
- To download system firmware updates, software updates, and fix packs, see the Fix Central website.
- To download Hardware Management Console (HMC) updates and fixes, see the Hardware Management Console Support and downloads website.
If your system is managed by the Hardware Management Console (HMC), use the HMC to complete the steps for installing a PCIe adapter in the system. For instructions, see Installing a part by using the HMC.
