Installing a PCIe adapter in the 8286-41A or 8286-42A system with the power turned on in AIX

Learn how to install the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) Express (PCIe) adapters in an AIX® system or an AIX logical partition with the system power turned on.

Before you install a feature, ensure that the software that is required to support the feature is installed on your system. For information about software prerequisites, see the IBM® Prerequisite website. If the required software is not installed, see the following websites to download it, and then install it before you continue:

If your system is managed by the Hardware Management Console (HMC), use the HMC to complete the steps for installing a PCIe adapter in the system. For instructions, see Installing a part by using the HMC.
