PI84313: IBM Z/OS EXPLORER CLIENT 3.0.1.10: CANCEL AN OUTPUT JOB WHICH EXCEEDS THE LIMIT MAX LINE WRONGLY DOES A 'GO INTO'

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• In Z/OS Explorer 3.0.1.10  /IDz V14.0.0.4, an active job which
  exceeds the limit max line is wrongly opened as a 'Go Into'
  even if a CANCEL is done.
  
  To recreate:
  - Select an Active JOB which exceeds the Max line
  to download (By default 5000 lines) from JES
  - Right click >Show in Table
  - Then double click on the Job from the Remote Systems details
  - A dialog window says that the job output exceed the limit
  - Select 'CANCEL'
  - The Remote System Details view goes into the selected job as
  if 'Go into' was chosen.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When a user cancels a file open request that was initiated with
  a double-click, the element is expanded (or in the case of a
  table drilled into).
  

Problem conclusion

• In RSE, when the result of a double-click on some resource comes
  back as false (indicating open didn't happen) it interprets the
  action to be a generic expand.  In this particular case, false
  is returned, resulting in the expand (or drill down) but it
  should instead return true since an open was attempted but was
  merely cancelled.
