APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Explorer for z/OS - zExpl -JCL editor flags xome SET
statements as errors when they are valid

For instance, the following two JCL statements are flagged
even though they are valid:
 // SET MEM=SV-SX
 // SET IPADD2=10.2.4.222

The SET MEM=SV-SX is flagged with Misplaced construct
The SET IPADD2=10.2.4.222 is flagged with ERROR_TOKEN

Local fix

  • None Available.

Problem summary

  • In the z/OS Explorer JCL editor, some SET statement parameter
values containing special characters are incorrectly flagged
with a syntax warning.

Problem conclusion

  • The z/OS Explorer JCL editor syntax parser has been updated to
include these characters.
