Error description
IBM Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.5.1.1 IBM Developer for z Systems - IDz - v14 IBM Explorer for z/OS v3.0.1 After installing the fix for APAR PI65471, the performance of downloading copybooks and include files is very slow and consumes more CPU cycles on the host. The fix for APAR PI65471 is in RDz client v9.5.1.1 iFix3 and in the IDz client v14.0. In one example, the client makes many more RSE calls, and repeatedly queries (for each copybook in the open module) all members of each of the 8 data sets defined in the SYSLIB parameter of the associated property group.
Local fix
For the RDz v9.5.1 client you can rollback the client from RDz v9.5.1.1 iFix3
Problem summary
With the use of cached copybooks, in some cases updated copybooks would not be downloaded and used so a fix was implemented to refresh more frequently, however this caused performance issues.
Problem conclusion
The update is a compromise of checking for new updates and reuse of cached resources. The fix can be obtained in z/OS Explorer v3.0.1.1 located here: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27047906
