APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • IBM Explorer for z/OS Version 3.0.0.1 or
Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v9.5.1 iFix2, a member
already edited
in ISPF can still be edited in RDz.

Steps to reproduce:

1- in ISPF, user USERA edits member MY.PDS(MEMBR1)
2- in RDz, user USERA edits same member MY.PDS(MEMBR1)
3- in RDz, editor is not opened in read-only mode but write and
member can be
modified and saved.

Local fix

  • there is no known workaround at this time.

Problem summary

  • A user is not prevented from editing a member that is locked by
him/herself in ISPF or another RDz instance.

Problem conclusion

  • Changed the behavior so that the lock owner cannot edit a
member when also editing in ISPF.
