Error description
You are trying to use the z/OS Explorer to view your HFS directories. The host system's TCPIP STACk that you are connecting to has JESINTERFACELEVEL=1 specified in the configuration. When you try to browse the HFS directories, the following error is thrown: !MESSAGE org.apache.commons.net.ftp.parser.ParserInitializationException: Unknown parser type: com.ibm.cics.zos.comm.ftp.HFSFTPFileEntryParser-JES1 This happens when using both the z/OSMF and FTP connection types in the Explorer. Additional Symptom(s) Search Keyword(s): KIXREVEPH HFSFTPFileEntry Parser PARSERINITIALIZ ATIONEXCEPTION -------------------------------------------------------------- This fix will be made available in Version 3.0.0.3 of the IBM Explorer for z/OS V3 Aqua. See the following z/OS Explorer V3 Aqua Fixlist technote 7047906 for details on downloading V3003. http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27047906 --------------------------------------------------------------

Problem summary
Connecting to a JES interface level 1 system attempted to switch to an FTP parser that was capable of parsing responses for jobs from a system running at JES interface level 1. The update for this incorrectly attempted to switch to an alternate parser for HFS files and datasets too, even though no such alternate parser existed, resulting in an inability to retrieve HFS files or datasets when connected to a system running at JES interface level 1.
Problem conclusion
The logic behind the mechanism to switch parsers was corrected to run the original parser in an alternate mode that only applies to jobs, leaving the HFS response parser and the datasets parser unaffected, restoring the ability to work with HFS files and datasets when connected to a JES interface level 1 system.
