APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When starting the AD Authentication Server (DEX) Service on
Linux x64 the below error is showing up:
    "-bash: ./dex-v2.15.0: cannot execute binary file"
Checking the file version and architecture, it  was made for
the IBM S/390 as shown below:
    "dex-v2.15.0: ELF 64-bit MSB executable, IBM S/390, version
1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux
3.2.0, BuildID[sha1]=322704a2eef015882b9f0deb461d39f6e64187c1,
not stripped"

Problem summary

  • AD Authentication (DEX) service not starting in Linux x86-64

Problem conclusion

  • The initial binary for the Linux x86-64 install was made for
zLinux, which was fixed matching the correct file architecture.
