Error description

  • Over several versions, DB2 has improved aspects of the
interfaces used by IIDR CDC for z/OS, and provided more
flexilibity for customers to specify how DB2 will operate. Some
    examples:
    1) The RSSAF interface enables certain performance improvements
when accessing the DB2 Log. IIDR CDC for z/OS uses the CAF
    interface, which does not.
    2) DB2 permits the customer to specify the load module names of
certain DB2 user exits. IIDR CDC for z/OS only accesses the DB2
user exits using the default names.
IIDR CDC for z/OS should be modified to exploit the
    improvements in DB2.

This SPE PTF implements changes to take advantage of DB2's
    improved interfaces and facilities.

Problem conclusion

  • IIDR CDC for z/OS is more flexible and efficient in it's use of
    DB2's interfaces.
