APAR status

Error description

  • IBM Developer for z Systems 14.1.7 and z/OS Explorer 3.1.1.19
    It takes over 10 minutes when opening a GDG (Generation Data
    Group) file with 255 generation files from the MVS Files on the
    Remote System.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Expanding a large GDG in the Remote Systems view takes much
    longer than it should
    

Problem conclusion

  • When populating the contents of the GDG, excessive refresh
    events are being fired which causes additional unnecessary
    queries
