  • IBM Developer for System z (IDz) : IDz 14.1.6 and 14.1.7
In the JCL editor, lines starting with //** (two star
characters) are neither coloured nor considered as comment
lines.
The ones starting with //* (one star character) are.
This does not occur in LPEX editor.

Problem conclusion


    

  • IBM z/OS V2.4 is the last release of supporting JES3, and will
discontinue JES3 support in the future. JES2 will be in replace.
 As a result, JES3 specific syntax like //** (command), sooner
or later will end its support. Therefore, changed this color
coding to comment
