Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z Systems 14.1.4 and 14.15 client, the
Remote Systems View "Find Member" result in the data set list is
repositioned when the selection is refreshed and requires the
user to run again to get the list.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Right click on a library that contains many members.
Select the "Find Member" menu option and enter a member name on
    in the "Find Member" window.
Press Enter. When the member is returned on the window, click
    OK.
     2. In the Remote Systems View, the member searched for is now
the first member in the library list of members.
     3. Double click on the member to open it.
     4. Close the member and the list is refreshed.
The member that was searched for is no longer at the top of the
    list.
"Find Member" action must be run again.

This scenario can occur if the file type mapping for the member
being opened is incorrect and the user closes the member to
change the mapping and then reopens the list.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The Remote Systems view refreshes data set contents positioned
at an offset back to the default after a member at the offset
    gets refreshed.

Problem conclusion

  • A change in the way the Remote Systems view compares UI objects
    caused this unexpected regression.
