APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • With the automated build script, the projects are not getting
released when they complete the process.  As a result, we get
these error messages and the process stops until we are able to
clear the popups. Windows popup message says: "The project
cannot be opened because it is temporary locked.  Please
try again later!"

Problem summary

  • The problem is about concurrent access to a shared resource
(CCS) and it is about multiple calls to this resource that does
not necessarily need to belong to a single transaction.
Also, it is about a window message (caused by these calls to the
shared resource ? CCS) that shouldn?t occur, when a process is
running in background, actually being a blocker for the entire
process.

Problem conclusion

  • For this issue, we delivered the ?test fix?, the error message
being now log in an error file as all the other errors when MAKE
 process is invoked form the command line.
This, at least, will ensure that the batch script will run to
the end without hanging or user intervention.
The fix is planned for fix pack v.5.1.0.1.
