APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Attempting to implement AD and
having issues with APF authorization.  The loadlib in the
started
task requires APF authorization. However it seems that it also
need DFHCSDUP the CICS batch CSD utility module.

Do not want to copy them into the delivery loadlib and also
don't want to APF authorize SDFHLOAD as its not required.

Problem summary

  • The CICS utility program DFHCSDUP that is used by AD to format
CSD information is typically installed in a non-APF authorized
CICS load library.  The AD Connect for Mainframe started task
STEPLIB concatenation must be APF authorized.  Therefore the
started task cannot load this module unless the CICS library is
authorized.  This is not something that all sites can
accommodate.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix for this is to configure the agent to submit a batch job
 to the internal reader so that the CSDUP utility can be run in
a separate non-authorized address space, which then returns the
data back to the AD started task via dataset and an ECB POST.
