APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Build client AD 5052 hangs and does nothing randomly (no
command form menu or right click works)
Issue appears randomly - no specific actions can be used to
reproduce.
Issue solves only if we restart the machine.
Not even a save operation works during that time when
reproducing the issue
no build client elements hanging were observed atm

Local fix

  • a batch thread is either working or hanged in background
workaround tried:
- close batch service
- then check if a java process remains hanged
- kill the hanged java batch process

a restart of batch server process should solve it

Problem summary

  • The issue was generated by the existence of a AD application
that does not has an associated session in CCS. If this
application locks a project, the information about the user
that locks the project is missing. As a result the Message Box
that warn other users that the project is locked is not shown.
The fix consists in showing the Message Box with an 'Unknown
user' when the information about user is missing.

Problem conclusion

  • The fix will be visible in the 5.1.0.0 version.
