APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In IBM Developer for z Systems (IDz) v14.1, the Remote z/OS File
search may fail when the data set name for the search filter
contains wild characters (such as *, ?). Instead of displaying
the result of the search, Remote z/OS File search will display
the following:

The following job has an error. See the joblog for more
information.
<joblog-name>

where the joblog-name is the name of the Remote z/OS File search
job.

Local fix

  • Use "Remote z/OS search" with the same dataset name filter.

Problem summary

  • IDz client generated invalid member selection directive in a
search JCL for ISPF SearchFor Utility when the length of the
selected member names were more than 72 characters.

Problem conclusion

  • IDz client was fixed to separate member selection directives
when it could not be written in a line.

Temporary fix
