APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Batch Server service's Logon As Id was being authenticated when
processing projects, especially when a project(s) in IBM AD was
available only via ACL access (non-Public). If the Batch
Server's ID was not entered and configured for ACL access for
the project in IBM AD's Configuration Server, then Batch Server
would not have access to the project, and would not process it.

Local fix

  • The (all uppercase) unqualified
machine name followed by a "$" symbol, e.g. MYHOST$, followed
by the Windows domain name specified on the System can be
entered in Configuration Server and given access to workspaces
like other users, if the Batch Server service is using Local
System Account to log on. After that, restart Batch Server
service, and it will process the waiting projects.

Problem summary

  • Batch Server service's ID was being authenticated for project
access, which caused Batch Server to not process projects if
Batch Server service's ID was not configured explicitly in IBM
AD Configuration Server for projects only accessible via ACL.

Problem conclusion

  • IBM AD code was changed to not authenticate Batch Server's
service ID against ACLs for processing projects.
