Error description

  • When Windows IBM Spectrum Protect Client 8.1.2 GUI restore
dialog is opened, the Active Directory objects are not shown.
The symptom is a result of a client failing to correctly read
the machine type information during initialization and is not
able to detect whether it is a Domain Controller therefore the
client does not display the Active Directory Objects.

Problem conclusion

  • Client changed the way of determining if it is the Domain
Controller because the Microsoft deprecated the old way.
Now client is determining if it is the DC using new interface.
