APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Agent Builder agents do not install correctly into an APM agent
  installation on Windows 10 or Windows 2016 server. The agent
  installs but fails to start.
  
  The 32-bit txtsub.exe that is provided in ira\agent\winnt by
  the builder and used by installIraAgent.bat to create the ENV,
  KxxENV.expanded, .ini, etc. files in %CANDLE_HOME%\tmaitm6_x64
  and used by installIraAgentTEPS.bat to create the
  %CANDLE_HOME%\CNP\cnp.bat and "%CANDLE_HOME%\CNB\applet.html"
  does not work properly.  This occurs if the file msvcr71.dll is
  not in the path.  For Windows 10 or Windows 2016 server, it is
  not in the path by default.
  
  (Note:  If an IBM Tivoli Monitoring (ITM) agent installation is
  on the machine, then a copy of msvcr71.dll is in the path
  because the installation updated the system PATH environment
  variable.  APM agent installation does not alter the system PATH
  environment variable.)
  

Local fix

• Edit installIraAgent.bat and installIraAgentTEPS.bat
  > change all occurrences of :
  winnt\txtsub.exe
  to
  wix64\txtsub.exe
  
  Then re-install the agent.
  

Problem summary

• On Windows 10 or Windows 2016 server, Agent Builder agents in
  an Application Performance Management (APM) fail to start due to
  an error creating the environment files.  This occurs if the
  Rfile msvcr71.dll is not in the path, which it is not by
  default.
  

Problem conclusion

• Update the InstallIraAgent script to use the Windows
  architecture (32 bit vs. 64 bit) to determine path to utilities.
