  z/VM CP APAR VM66288 (PTF-UM35563) adds support to
  CPFMTXA for a more efficient ECKD mini disk data
  erase. With both the z/VM CP APAR and the DirMaint
  VM65784 APAR applied, DirMaint will automatically
  take advantage of this support by issuing the
  new CPFMTXA ERASE command for disk cleanup where
  disk cleanup is specified either in a configuration
  file or on the command line using the CLEAN option.
  
  If an error occurs during the the cleanup using the new
  support, DirMaint will attempt cleanup using the current
  supported methods.

• To take advantage of the new fast erase support, both the CP
  APAR VM66288 and the Dirmaint APAR VM65784 must be applied. Once
  applied, no other actions are necessary.
