Open Mic replay: What is new in the latest XGS firmware updates - 29 March 2017 (Includes link to video; presentation is attached)
Experts in Infrastructure Security shared information on the latest XGS Firmware in the new version, 5.4, which is named IBM QRadar Network Security. They covered: Flow enhancements for continued flow parity, multiple user accounts, customer escalations / RFE, DoD requirements (DoD UC APL judication), and Serviceability.
This Open Mic session was the first webcast provided by IBM Security Infrastructure Technical Support in 2017. Our goal is to provide insight on how IBM QRadar Network Security (and older versions, known as IBM Security Network Protection) works and to teach on-going sessions that help users and administrators understand, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with their XGS product.
For this open mic session, Eric York explained in detail:
- IBM QRadar family
- 2nd generation XGS hardware supported
- X-Force Exchange integration (Malware Analysis Beta)
- Serviceability improvements
- Hardware failure detection enhancement
- Debug log enhancement
- Multiple administrators and roles
- Other enhancements
- Enhance 6-in-4 / 4-in-6 packets blocking
- Accessibility enhancement
- MCP version upgrade
- Fixes/Patches made in 5.4
Attendees asked questions of the panelists, and Eric answered. It was an interesting and educational session.
