Abstract

This document lists the hardware and software requirements for IBM WebSphere Process Server and IBM WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus, Version 6.1.2, on the Solaris operating system on x86-64 platforms.

Content

This document describes the minimum product levels that must be installed before opening a problem report with the WebSphere Process Server or WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases, testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run minor updates to supported products if those updates are compatible with later versions. For more information on available support for configurations that are not included in the following list, refer to the following support article: WebSphere Process Server and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus has grown and so have your requirements. The product support and technical support for minor updates that are compatible with later versions is covered in the "Other Configurations" section.

Supporting software (for example LDAP servers) can run, but is not required to run, on the same computer or operating system on which the product runs. For additional information:

  • Check supporting software requirements to determine whether the supporting software runs locally or is connected remotely to the product.
  • Refer to the document that corresponds to the operating system on which you want to run the supporting software. See the following lists of supported operating systems:

The following list identifies supporting software that runs on the Solaris operating system on x86-64 platforms.

  • AMD Opteron or Intel EM64T (64-bit kernel support)
  • Minimum 1 GB physical memory; 2 GB recommended

Application server

Currency certification: WebSphere Process Server 6.1.2.1 and WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus 6.1.2.1 are certified and recommended on WebSphere Application Server 6.1.0.19, and are supported on all later WebSphere Application Server fix packs.

IBM 64-bit SDK for Solaris, Java 2 Technology Edition, 5.0 SR7

Note: The WebSphere-supplied Java 2 software development kit (SDK) is required for both the runtime environment and remote Java clients.
Databases
    Note: Business Process Choreographer can be configured to use Materialized Query Views. See Performance Optimization Feature Pack.

    Note: Business Process Choreographer minimum requirement: DB2 9.5 FP1
  • Current Certification 1438909 IBM DB2 Enterprise Server Edition 9.7 FP2 is certified and recommended on WebSphere Process Server Fix Pack 6.1.2.3.

  • IBM Informix Dynamic Server 10.00 C5
    Notes:
    • Not supported for the Business Process Choreographer Observer components of WebSphere Process Server.
    • Not supported for the Business Space component.
  • Informix Dynamic Server Version 11.50 xC3 is certified and recommended on WebSphere Process Server Fix Pack 6.1.2.0.
