Introduction

This document contains a list of the Passport Advantage eAssembly installation images for Operational Decision Manager V8.9.2, and instructions for downloading and installing the files. This release introduces IBM Operational Decision Manager for IBM Cloud Private, which is available for Linux x86, Linux Power, and Linux on System z.

Samples and tutorials

You must install the Decision Server Rules Samples and Tutorials feature to run the Decision Server and Decision Center samples. Decision Server Insights has its own samples and tutorials.

Disk space requirements

Check that you have enough disk space on your computer to download, unpack, and install the product. You can delete the downloaded files after you unpack them.

• Operational Decision Manager Server or Server Express: To download and unpack the product, you need 25 GB of disk space. The full installation requires about 13 GB.
• Operational Decision Manager Application Pattern: To download and unpack an application image, you need about 12 GB of disk space. The full installation requires about 7 GB.

Installation information

You use IBM Installation Manager to install Operational Decision Manager Decision Server, Decision Center, and Server Insights. To install Operational Decision Manager on IBM Cloud Private or Application Pattern, follow the instructions provided in the IBM Knowledge Center.

Installing Operational Decision Manager Decision Server, Decision Center, and Server Insights

To install Operational Decision Manager Decision Server, Decision Center, and Server Insights, you must first download and expand the installation files. Then, you select the files and follow the steps in Installation Manager to install the components and associate them with an application server.

List of installation disks

The Operational Decision Manager download files are also available as concatenable repository files. These files are limited in size to less than 1 GB (1,000 MB). You must download and concatenate the files before you run Installation Manager.

Downloading

Follow these instructions to download the eAssembly repository files:

1. Use your IBM ID to sign in to IBM Passport Advantage Online.
2. Select Find by part number in Download finder options.
3. Search for your files by using the part numbers that are listed below.
4. Download the files to your computer.

Concatenating repositories

Some of the multiplatform eAssembly IM repositories come in multiple files. You must concatenate the files to create a usable installation file. Starting with 00, you associate the files in ascending order by using the index numbers of the file extensions.

Using Installation Manager

Follow these instructions to install the product by using Installation Manager:

1. Extract the repository files from the downloaded files.
2. Start IBM Installation Manager.
3. Open File > Preferences.
4. Under Repositories, click Add repository and browse to an extracted folder and select it. Repeat this step until you finish adding all the folders for the repository files.
5. Click OK.
6. Click Install and select the repositories that you want to install.
7. Click Install to complete the installation.

Using Decision Connect and IBM API Connect Essentials V5.0

Operational Decision Manager includes a Decision Connect capability that provides entitlement to IBM API Connect™ Essentials V5.0. API Connect Essentials is an optional supporting program that provides an API management capability. It has the ability to expose managed decision APIs to cloud solutions such as systems of engagement and cognitive applications that use Swagger definitions, enabling them to easily intraspect, test, and reuse. IBM WebSphere Application Server

IBM WebSphere Liberty is provided as the sample server in Operational Decision Manager. If you want to use WebSphere Application Server instead, use the following eAssembly images to install the server.
