Abstract

Fix pack for IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager, Version 2.0.2

Download Description

This fix pack contains the following new currency support:

  • VMWare ESXi version 6.0
    IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager adds support for VMware version 6.0.

Installation Instructions

Upgrade instructions
With LDAPS configured, a virtual appliance that is upgraded to IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager 2.0.2 starts up as unconfigured. No data is lost.

Perform the following steps to repair the appliance:

  1. In the Appliance Setup wizard, accept the license, and proceed with the configuration.
    Note: Do not change the default settings.
  2. Once the configuration is complete, shut down the appliance.
  3. Take a snapshot of the appliance.
  4. Start the appliance.
  5. Install the fix pack. See Installing the fix pack.
  6. Restart the appliance.

Configuring LDAPS for IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager 2.0.2
If you want to use LDAPS for a new installation of IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager 2.0.2, complete the following steps:
  1. Deploy IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager 2.0.2.
    Important: Do not configure the data tier.
  2. Shut down the virtual appliance.
  3. Take a snapshot of the virtual appliance.
  4. Start the virtual appliance.
  5. Install the fix pack. See Installing the fix pack.
  6. Configure the data tier.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Installation from the command line interface (CLI)
Access the command line interface of the virtual appliance by using either an ssh session or the console.

Procedure
  1. Copy the fix pack to a USB device.
    Note: The fix pack must not be in a folder on the USB device.
  2. Attach the USB device to your virtual appliance.
  3. In the virtual appliance CLI, run the command, fixpacks.
  4. Run the command, install.
    Note: It lists all the fix packs that are available in the USB device.
  5. Select the index of the 2.0.2-ISS-ISPIM-VA-FP0002.fixpack and press Enter.
  6. Run the command, list to view the list of installed fix packs.

Installation from the LMI User Interface
Access the LMI via the web page for the Appliance. For example https://<localhost>:9443/login

Procedure
  1. Download the Fixpack to your local workstation.
  2. From the IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager dashboard, select Manage.
  3. Under the Manage dropdown, select Fix Packs.
  4. In the Fix Pack page, select New.
  5. In the Add Fix Pack, select Browse for Fix Pack.
  6. Select the required fix pack.
  7. Select Save Configuration in the Add Fix Pack panel.

Troubleshooting
If you still have problems connecting to the LDAP server over SSL, after you apply the fix pack, follow the steps below:
  1. Restore the virtual appliance to the snapshot that was taken before Fix Pack 2 was applied.
  2. Reapply Fix Pack 2.
