Impact Assessment
Impact Description

This is a maintenance release. It contains fixes for client-reported and internally found defects.

Test Results

Definitions

Regression: An error in the Maintenance Delivery Vehicle (MDV) that produces incorrect or unexpected behavior causing a supported feature to stop functioning as designed.
This includes:

  • Coding errors that cause a regression
  • Documentation or packaging problems that cause a regression
  • Errors reported in a new function delivered in a MDV that cause a regression

Incomplete: An error in the MDV has not regressed, but does not work as designed.
This includes:

  • Fixed APARs which did not solve the original problem but did not break anything new
  • APARs reporting documentation errors, such as readme errors, that cause problems applying an MDV but do not lead to a regression

Notes:
  • Regression and incomplete APARs are considered fix-in-error or MDV-in-error
  • Definitions above apply only to valid APARs that result in product fixes (APARs returned as working-as-designed are not assessed for being fix-in-error)
  • Issues in major releases due to new functionality do not apply in this definition

There are no known regressions to report.

Change History

What's new

Role stereotypes with multiple inheritance in AUTOSAR profiles

Prior to this release, when role stereotypes in the AUTOSAR profiles inherited from multiple types, the Features dialog for instances of the role would include multiple tags with the same name. Now, in such cases, you see only one instance of the tag.

Addition of deriveReqt stereotype for SysML projects

In SysML projects, there is now a deriveReqt stereotype that can be applied to dependencies.

Rhapsody API: support for "send to back" and "bring to front" for free shapes.

Two new methods have been added to the IRPGraphElement interface: sendToBack and bringToFront.

Rhapsody API: methods for showing/hiding all ports

Methods named showAllPorts and hideAllPorts have been added to the interface IRPGraphNode. These methods can be used to show or hide all of the ports associated with a graphical element.

Rhapsody API: method for getting all of the variation points in a component

A method named getVariationPoints has been added to the IRPComponent interface. This method can be used to get all of the variation points that are included in the scope of a component.

Rhapsody API: methods for selecting multiple elements in the browser and multiple elements on a diagram

Two new methods have been added to the IRPApplication interface: selectModelElements and selectGraphElements. The method selectModelElements can be used to select multiple items in the model browser. The method selectGraphElements can be used to select multiple elements in the most recently opened diagram.

Rhapsody API: method for getting content of tooltip

A new method called getToolTip has been added to the interface IRPModelElement. This method returns the HTML that would be used to display the tooltip for the element in the user interface.

AUTOSAR 4.2.1 support

Rational Rhapsody now supports AUTOSAR 4.2.1 modeling.

AUTOSAR 3.2.3 support

Rational Rhapsody now supports AUTOSAR 3.2.3 modeling.

System requirement check before installation on Linux

Beginning in this release, when installing Rational Rhapsody on Linux, the installation process first checks whether the target computer meets the necessary requirements in terms of the operating system and installed software. The user is notified if any of the requirements are not met.

Enhanced compliance with ANSI C++ standard

When Rational Rhapsody generates C code for bidirectional associations, the code contains double underscores, which are a violation of the ANSI C++ standard. In this release, a new property, C_CG::Configuration::RelationDelimiter, has been added to provide you with the option of generating code that does not include double underscores.

Rhapsody Tables: ability to display and modify user-defined information in tables

The existing UserDefinedMethod feature can be used to display any type of model information in a table cell. In the current release, this feature has been expanded to allow modification of information in cells that use a UserDefinedMethod. To allow modification of the data in such cells, you must define an additional method which takes the new cell data and element GUID and modifies the model data. The name of this additional method must be the name of the UserDefinedMethod plus the string "Set" added to the end of the method name.

Rhapsody in Ada: Ada2012 code generation enhancements

A number of enhancements have been made to Ada2012 code generation, including the replacement of "pragma inline" with "with inline" for getters and setters, and the ability to generate an aspect spec in a "language" type by using the new macro %aspec.

Reporter Plus Improvements

ReporterPLUS reports can now include the dependsOn information for dependencies to Timing Diagrams.

SXF C++ - improvements to Requirements package

A number of improvements have been made to the SXF C++ Requirements package including the removal of redundant requirements, the completion of requirements for autogenerated code such as getters/setters, and the cleaning up of trace dependencies between code and requirements.

Rhapsody Design Manager - improved diagnostic information

The Diagnostics page for Rhapsody Design Manager now includes additional diagnostic information regarding the status and performance of the model server.
