Question & Answer

Question

How to change the password of the default "admin" ID that is used to log in to IGI 5.2.2 Administration Console. With previous IGI 5.2.1 version the password for the "admin" ID could be changed in the Administration Console from the "Change Password" link in upper left of the home page, but this option is removed in the new UI of IGI 5.2.2 version.

Answer

Perform the following steps to change the IGI 5.2.2 admin ID password value for the user's Ideas account used to log in to the IGI Administration Console.

1. Log in to the IGI 5.2.2 Administration Console as the sysadmin ID with password value of sysadmin.

2. Open the menu in upper left corner. Then at the very bottom of the browser page of the menu will be the "Switch to Realm: Admin" link, click that link to switch to the Admin realm from the Ideas realm.

3. In the Admin realm home page open the IGA Core and go to Manage -> Users, then find the user whose "Master UID" value is "admin". The user will have a first name value of "Admin" and last name value of "Default Administrator". Then on that users Accounts tab select their Ideas account and from Actions menu do the "Change PWD" to change the password. After the password change is submitted then can log out as sysadmin and then log in to the IGI Administration Console as admin with the new password value.
