Problem
multiple scheduled backup for virtual machine can run simultaneously. When user defines 2 client schedule backups at the same time on one datamover, one backup is launched successfully, but the other schedule backup is failed for ANS5176W message. "ANS5176W(RC4383) The requested virtual machine operation cannot be performed because a virtual machine backup or restore operation is already in progress. Please retry the operation after the first operation completes."
Cause
multiple concurrent schedules for "backup vm" on one datamover are not supported.
For example,
Schedule_A is backup for VM_A at 0AM.
Schedule_B is backup for VM_B at 0AM.
Resolving The Problem
If you need to take backup multiple VMs by Tivoli Storage Manager scheduler at the same date/time, you should specify one schedule with a list of virtual machines in it like below.
Schedule_A is backup for VM_A and VM_B at 0AM.
